Hi, I’m Duncan Cameron, and this is my first post as the new owner/operator of Comox Harbour Charters.
I bought this business from Danny Clair at the end of 2021, and he is generously helping with the transition as we reopen for 2022. We are hoping, of course, that Danny will always be part of the Comox Harbour Charters family. The plan is to carry on with Comox Harbour Charters’ popular nature- and family-oriented cruises, along with Special Events and scattering the ashes of loved ones.
I was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and I’ve been a sailor most of my life. When I moved to the Comox Valley from Montreal in Fall 2021, Danny and I got to work right away transferring the business.
My boating background began as a sailing instructor, and it progressed through bareboat charters, yacht deliveries, and a series of oceangoing sailboats. I’ve captained 20,000 sea miles in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, the Eastern seaboard, and the Great Lakes. My community service to boating has been as a Director of Accessible Sailing organizations in Toronto and Montreal.
I’ve also been an executive in finance and in consumer products, as well as a business professor.
We’re looking forward to many more great maritime experiences together in the wonderful Comox Valley community.
