2019 Adventures

Wrecks of Royston

Well, 2019 is here and Comox Harbour Charters is trying to figure out what adventures to chase.  Over the holiday season, we heard a rumour that we had sold the boat and company.  This is not true.  It is true that the company is for sale, but we are trying to find someone that wants to continue to run out of Comox.  I have been based out of Comox since buying the boat in 2011.  Most of the summer we concentrate on private charters for groups up to 12 passengers.  These trips are mostly 2-4 hour trips for families and friends celebrating something.  We are taking bookings for this summer, but will not confirm until March 1st.  By the end of February we will have a plan for this summer, and post it here and on Facebook.  The end of February is also when the Herring are getting ready to spawn.  If the spawn happens close by and in decant weather, we will be out there.  A list has been started for people interested in viewing this spectacle of nature.  Let us know by e-mail if you would like to be on this list.  Our summer season usually starts in June with oyster farm tours during Seafood Festival.  Stay tuned for these dates

In the shoulder season we sometimes do longer trips to lodges and resorts.  The boat is not set-up for overnight accommodation, so we take advantage of the off season rates offered by the many remote lodges.  This spring we would like to explore the mainland coast from Toba inlet, north to Port Neville.  Tentatively we are looking at a trip in late April, when most boaters are still planning and the anchorages are empty. April is a good time to get prawns and crab, so we will defiantly bring the traps. A lot of lodges and docks don’t open until May long weekend.  Last year we had trouble finding ice and fuel in early May, so we would like to do a 2nd trip in late May, with more focus on the nicer lodges around the Discovery Islands.  If one of these adventures spark your interest, let us know and maybe we can make it happen.
